I didn't know there was a FR in 1995! I started lurking in the fall of 1997 but was too shy to sign up until some time in early 98. changed my nic in Aug of 98 and decided I wasn't shy anymore. Yea for Free Republic! I learn so much here and have so much fun!

FR was around for a few years before I started lurking/commenting in the mid 90’s. The earliest conversations I remember were pro life. I lost my name tag when I changed it in the late 90’s to Amos the Prophet. That is my birth date.
There have been times when I panicked because I could not get online. This has been a primary destination for many years. I would be lost without FR.
