Dallas billionaire Harold Simmons died on Saturday after an illness, aged 82. The legendary empire builder and corporate raider was worth $10 billion at Forbes last reckoning, ranking 40 on the 2013 Forbes 400. He died at the Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, having been in failing health for several months.
Simmons, who built his fortune from nothing, was known to wear $3,000 sport coats to reflect his wealth, but underwear from Wal-Mart out of respect for his frugal upbringing.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, he called Barack Obama “the most dangerous man in America” because he wanted to “eliminate free enterprise in this country.”

In and of himself he is not. What makes him particularly dangerous is that he is the figurehead groomed for this position by the ultra-leftists (e.g. Ayers types) who have been plotting and planning for decades and decades. He is the tip of a much, much bigger iceberg that has remained submerged from view.

Her sister, Serena Simmons Connelly, is the foundation’s executive vice president. Connelly has personally donated more than $180,000 to several dozen Democratic political candidates and committees since the 2008 election cycle, including the presidential campaigns of Obama and Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee.

I respect him building a fortune from humble background, but he became a moneyed rino or allowed himself to be swayed in that direction. Was right about Obama, I will concede that.
Foundations often times end up going 180 degree away from the original founder. Just look at what happened to the Ford Foundation.

Gee! I read the headline and immediately thought, “Breitbarted”. But...It was an illness.
sad sad sad to see his daughters treat their fathers billions like that.
