Inmost of Canada, for most of the year, incandescent light bulbs are extremely efficient. Five percent of the energy goes to lighting the room, with the other 95% helping to heat a cold room!

In some instances, incandescent light bulbs are actually more efficient than LEDs or CFLs. That's because they are also little infra-red radiant heaters. They make you feel slightly warmer, while you're sitting under them, and you can turn back the room thermostat a little bit.

incandescent light bulbs are also great for keeping baby chicks warm and preventing freezing of the well house pumps.
