In contrast, a survey by the Confederation of British Industry found British staff working in the private sector took around five sick days a year. The figures also showed European officials even outstripped Britain’s civil servants and public sector staff—who took half as many days off work.

I worked for a public company for 10 years. I had one sick day, and that was only by mistake. It took longer to recover from having 4 wisdom teeth pulled than expected.

Hey. Why should anyone have to work to get paid? There is a magic machine that “the rich” people have that generates all the money anyone could want and if the “rich” would just pay their “fair share,” we all could take two weeks sick time and four weeks vacation and a couple extra weeks of pesonal days and holidays.
