Americans still have too much to lose.
Until they reach the point where they have nothing else left to lose, they will rise up.
God help this country when the powder keg explodes. It will be very ugly, very much along the lines of the first civil war.
“It will be very ugly, very much along the lines of the first civil war.”
I’m afraid you’re right, only this time it will not be so organized.
“It will be very ugly, very much along the lines of the first civil war.”
It will be far, far more ugly than that. Our first “civil war” (which is actually misnamed as such) was fought by armed troops of two separate countries (yes, the Comfederacy, having seceded, was no longer part of the United States, and was thus a separate and independent country), under some codes of honor.
A real civil war would like like what is happening now in Syria and in many parts of Africa, and what happened in the Balkans, with several different factions fighting for their own respective interests, often forging very temporary and fragile “alliances” with other factions that they will still fight clandestinely. A true civil war is a nightmare, and is usually accompanied by the most heinous atrocities, most often against innocent non-combatants such as women, children, and the elderly. Terror is an integral part of civil wars.
Read up on some real civil wars. It will chill your bones.
I have been expecting this since the 70s. I can't go on, and say what I really think, because this is a family forum, but I am thinking it.
“God help this country when the powder keg explodes. It will be very ugly, very much along the lines of the first civil war.”
I do not wish to call the next war a civil war. It should be referred to as Revolutionary War II. It is not about ‘Civil’, it is about ‘Revolution’.
