If you could get in a time travel machine and head back to the beginning of the year, you would best do so with Bitcoin on the brain. We took a look at how the major tech stocks performed this year in comparison with digital currencies, and for comparison’s sake, threw in gold and the best of the staples, cocoa (thanks to chocolate eaters in Asia). You wouldn’t have gone wrong with any of the tech stocks, but Bitcoin was far and away the best investment to make this year, even having fallen from its $1200 peak to its current $600s valuation. This chart explains why people were so crazy about digital currencies this year.

Well, that prediction didn't come through. Granted, BTC lost a good chunk of value when the Chinese locked it out of their country and MT-Gox flat lined due to fraud and theft.
We are in a deflationary mood so Bitcoin is deflating with others. No need for peripheral currencies electronic and otherwise. No need for petro-currencies (Russia) and currencies supported by raw materials extraction such as Canada and Australia.
Just look at the strength of the phony baloney fiat USD at the expense of ______ you fill in the blank
