I thought this was interesting too, because it’s summer in the Southern Hemisphere. I had thought that getting stuck in ice on the seas near Antarctica would not happen this time of year.
And, considering global warming, how can this be? We have been told that the north pole is going to be ice free in the near future due to global warming. So it’s got to shock the global warming people that ships are stuck in the ice in Antarctica in the summertime.

Government is just as infallible, too, when it fixes systems in physics. Galileo was sent to the inquisition for affirming that the earth was a sphere; the government had declared it to be as flat as a trencher, and Galileo was obliged to abjure his error. This error however at length prevailed, the earth became a globe, and Descartes declared [294] it was whirled round its axis by a vortex. The government in which he lived was wise enough to see that this was no question of civil jurisdiction, or we should all have been involved by authority in vortices. In fact the vortices have been exploded, and the Newtonian principles of gravitation is now more firmly established, on the basis of reason, than it would be were the government to step in and to make it an article of necessary faith. You just don't get it. Global warming caused the Arctic ice to melt, cooling the oceans, and causing more ice to form in the Antarctic. Soon Global Warming will cause the Antarctic ice to melt, further cooling the oceans, and we will all be covered in ice because of Global Warming!

My Schadenfreude is overflowing at this amusing moment in this Antarctic summertime.
Isn’t this the same thing that happens, when these “GLOBAL WARMING” ding bats hold a meeting here. The day before, It snows like hell. How, they hope to prove that “GLOBAL WARMING” is real by going to Antarctica, and guess what, it gets so cold that their ship is ICE BOUND. It is my wish, that these people are all vegetarians, and the only thing left on board ship, is meat of all kinds. Now, I’m sure that GOD has a good sense of humor.
