WASHINGTON - A wandering deer evidently found its way in among the cheetahs at the National Zoo on Friday morning.
The result? Well, let's call it a circle-of-life moment.
According to DCist, zoo spokeswoman Annalisa Meyer said that a keeper heard "bleating from the cheetah yard" at about 11:40 a.m.
When checking on the cheetahs, the keeper saw a wild deer on the ground, with one cheetah biting its throat and another behind the deer, which was already dead.

Bet the deer was not expecting that. What I would call an “oh crap!” moment.

No fair! That’s cheetahing!

Investigative commission needed, immediately. No longer can we tolerate these occurrences, infrequent though they may be.
I open the budgetary bidding at $650,000.

Did any lions or hyenas walk up and steal the cheetahs’ kill?

The cheetahs caught it fair and square - were they allowed to keep it?

Their “environment” made them do it.
More funding for cheetah education, housing, food and healthcare

For the cheetahs, best day EVER!

Hmm...the zoo borders on Rock Creek Park, Washington, D.C., and the deer herd has to be controlled occasionally in the park by culling.
I guess they could use the cheetahs for that, as it worked so well in the zoo.

Sounds as if the cheetahs need diversity training.
Can’t we all just get along?

Give the deer a Darwin award.
Surprising, though - how come a deer can get in and cheetahs can't get out?
