It doesn't say that he passed the bar exam. Perhaps that's part of his problem?
It’s possible. However, it is also true that law schools have turned into largely diploma mills that have churned out law students well beyond what can be absorbed into society.
Perhaps, but generally speaking, well ranked law school grads have secured jobs well before passing the bar. They usually take the bar at the end of July while their job starts in June. Job offers at decent firms are generally made many months before that. Taking a bar review class is expensive (about 4 grand) and it may be that this jobless grad hasn't had the wherewithal to take one.
It appears he hasn’t passed the bar exam. Which means he either should be studying to take it the first time, or has failed it once, and should be studying harder, while doing some kind of work (like retail) until he passes.
Dollars to donuts he’s an AA beneficiary who didn’t meet normal admission standards for intelligence and academic success.
*If* he passes the bar exam and still can’t get a job in the big city, I’d advise moving to an unfashionable boom town like the oil areas of North Dakota, and earning a good living serving people’s actual legal needs. Either hang out a shingle, or find a lawyer who needs help and will mentor.
