“Gehad” is (Egyptian) Arabic for “jihad”. The word starts with the Arabic letter jiim, which is pronounced “j” in most of the Arab world, a notable exception is in the Cairene dialect in which the letter is pronounced “g” as in “girl”. This leads to inconsistent transliterations.
