And the Dominick’s stores are closing because . . . ?

Like you I would like to know the background history of this. These guys had the best stores in the central Chicago area. I used to spend a lot of time in Chicago and there was a Dominicks near where I stayed. Lots of high rise and condo living customers there and they did a big business. Amazing they closed all of these stores.

I used to live in Chicago. And the two dominant grocery chains were Jewel and Dominick’s. I wonder what’s going on? Competition from other stores, such as Wal-Mart? Losses on operating in the city, such as shoplifting and security costs?

I had same memories - PLUS they have “outlawed” Walmart so it can’t be that bit of low priced competition.
