Yes, Cracker Barrel has reversed course, but I believe you're mistaken about A&E, due to not having enough details, which I'll attempt to provide here (they are widely known by now).

A&E has already finished filming all but the final episode of next year's fourth season, and they've suspended ol' Phil from that final episode. A&E, of course, intends to broadcast those shows, but that has nothing to do with their suspension of him; rather, it's strictly a profit issue for them.

The present questions are:
* will Phil be included after all in that final episode, or indeed will the family participate in it without him?
* will the family, including Phil, sign with A&E for a fifth season, and under what conditions?
