“I’ve got your back” no longer sounds so re-assuring.
I used to joke that we would have quotas (”goals”) for promotion for homosexuals as individuals, and for units as a whole.
For instance, a unit could either be 10% homosexual, or 100% homosexual, 10% of the time.
Perhaps an individual would need a bi-annual re-certification of bi-sexuality to qualify for the promotion preference.
I am glad that I don’t have to endure this personally. It is really hard to stomach. It must be having an effect on recruiting and retention - purging conservatives and packing in (pun intended) homosexuals.
I was also thinking that the “crossed swords” were symbolic for a number of things, none of them good ...
I thought the same thing. Perhaps they are expecting immediate promotions.
Are there no blankets? Cannot bars of soap still go into the toe of a sock? Should not orders that directly attack Core Values be resisted?
ISTM that an officer needs to do the work that is closest to him. Maximizing cohesion and morale to assure that his unit is mission ready IS doing his duty. That is along the lines of what I shall counsel.
Such might well cost him dearly, but he will retain his integrity.

It used to be that troops at 12 years in would consider finishing 20 for retirement pay. Those at 16 definitely would. I am seeing those two groups getting out. Not a single guy I know is staying in.

These findings echo other studies showing that homosexuals and lesbians are three to four times or more, more likely to engage in child sexual abuse than heterosexual men and women.

“In country after country,” says Dr. Paul Cameron, chairman of the Family Research Institute, a think tank in Colorado Springs, “a gay teacher is the most apt to molest a pupil, Likewise, in newly released data from the Illinois Dept. of Children & Family Services, a gay foster parent and a gay adoptive parent is the most apt to molest a [child].
“Without exception, whether it is a teacher, a foster parent, or an adoptive parent, a man is more apt to molest than a woman. Also without exception, an adult who engages in homosexuality is more apt to molest a pupil, a foster child, or an adoptive child than one who doesn’t.”
The rape figures are extrapolated from two DOD studies in 2007 and 2008 of sexual assaults in the military.
By the way, a homosexual teacher is 16 times more likely to sexually assault a student than a heterosexual male teacher, and a lesbian teacher is about three times more apt to do this than a straight female teacher.
