I think that most people will look past the larger issues in the black community that are driving these rates of infection.
Some have pointed out the number of black men on the “down low” and that is a contributing factor to the cross-out of AIDS/HIV from the gay community to the heterosexual female community.
What isn’t talked about much outside the black community is how many black women are sleeping with a very small pool of alpha males. There’s a huge dearth of eligible men in the black community (according to black women, that is), driven by higher rates of education and pay among black women than men, and the biological drive called “hypergamy,” which makes women prefer the men who are more alpha, better providers, etc.
The result is that there are a small number of high-status/high-achievement men in the black community who can have most any woman they want - and they do.
Some black dating websites discuss the absurd imbalance of women vs. men at various mixer events, barbques, etc. We’re talking seven women for every man that shows up - or worse.
