I think the thing that frustrates me the most is that there have been people whove come out today and said, Its free speech, its free speech, Aiken continued. And I would ask them if the person had said something about interracial marriage, or said that we should put all children with disabilities in institutions, would we still say, Well, thats free speech, were okay with that opinion? And I think the answer is no.
Aiken did, however, say that society has made progress in its acceptance of gays though total acceptance isnt likely to happen anytime soon.

Acceptance? They have that now, and it’s not enough....they want to be CELEBRATED.
I can finally sleep now.
He’s the Gay Clay from American Idol. ;)
What males on that show aren’t gay?
What. A. Boob.
Clay Who???
Never heard of him.
I remember how people didn’t accept the obviousness about Aiken during the Idol year he participated. Folks here at FR, for example, were in denial.
They confuse tolerance with acceptance.
Clay Aiken? No, seriously.... does his opinion really carry any weight?
And if Clay Aiken were a conservative this headline would read “Aiken compares gays to disabled kids!!”
My sons went to YMCA camp a few summers here in NC; day camp. Clay was one of the counselors. They never had him as theirs, but it was universally known that Clay was a complete ass-hat of a counselor and was not liked by anybody.
Nobody is stopping them from doing what they do. Just don't equate said behavior with those who hold traditional beliefs and force us to accept it.
Gee I dont remember Clay Aiken or anyone else on the left make a big deal out of Martin Bashir saying that someone should take a dump in Sarah Palin’s mouth..I think the homos need to go on twitter and look up REAL hate..just type in Sarah Palin’s name in the search bar..that’s REAL hate
Oh, thank heaven. This situation really needed Clay Aiken’s input, bless his heart.
I’m still waiting with bated breath for Justin Guarini and Cher’s mangirl offspring thingy to comment.
They were both pitchers. I won’t ask the obvious. :-)
>> Aiken did, however, say that society has made progress in its acceptance of gays
It’s about “acceptance” now.
