Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley sides with the Iowa Corn Growers Association as ethanol production came under fire. According to an investigation by the Associated Press, ethanol production puts added stress on the environment through erosion and fertilizer pollution. AP reported that “the ethanol era has proven far more damaging to the environment than politicians promised and much worse than the government admits today.”
The Iowa Corn Growers Association disagreed, saying they have reduced fertilizer use and that plants have become more efficient in utilizing what they produce.

The corn lobby owns this dope.
This is one of the few areas I disagree with my Senator on.

Another crooked politician doing what comes naturally. Not what is right but vote getting.
As well as moving billions of dollars in scarce capital into the production of a product that decreases gas mileage, harms engines, doesn't help the environment, and that consumers neither want nor value. Great idea!

Sort of but he doesn’t harp it as much. I get it to some degree as we have manufacturing plants here, but still it’s a long term boondoggle.

The week before Thanksgiving I was driving across the country and had just taken on a tank of Iowa biodiesel... 25 miles later, just west of West Des Moines, my car was crippled on the side of RT 80 with a failed injector pump.
