Its patriarch has been indefinitely suspended. Activist groups like GLAAD and the NAACP are piling on. The Robertson family "can't imagine" the show without Phil "at the helm."
But are "Duck Dynasty's" days numbered in the wake of the patriarch's polarizing comments on gays and African Americans?
Far from it.
"This controversy will quickly pass and do no damage to the brand," says David E. Johnson, CEO of the PR and branding agency Strategic Vision LLC. "The reason is that the controversy reinforced the brand image. The brand image of Robertson and 'Duck Dynasty' is that they speak their minds and live their lives as they believe best. His comments reinforced that image."

Indeed, the mobilization of die-hard "Duck" aficionados may only make the hit reality series even bigger when it returns to the airwaves on Jan. 15. But based on a survey of experts, A&E's swift, decisive move to suspend Robertson was the right one.
"I'm sure the A&E executives are sitting around a table going, 'We don't want another Paula Deen moment … We don't want to lose one of our biggest talents, but we're not going to put up with this kind of speech,'" crisis-PR strategist Howard Bragman tells "omg! Insider."

I suspect they're far from being a rocket scientist - one of those people who derives their beliefs from the so-called "in-crowd".

Experts? There are “experts” who care about these people? I had never heard of these people before this story. Now I am sorry I know who they are...and what they are. Experts? Really?
What he is not taking into account is old style family loyalty. It will be a dull show with none of the family participating.
The reason evil tyrants kill Christians is because they can’t be bought off or beat into submission like pagans can. They know the living God personally. It is His power that keeps them steady.
The show is over. The season they have in the can will be the last. I guess they will be editing out Phil for the fifth season?
Not going to quickly pass. I bought my new Duck Commander duck call yesterday. Wearing it proudly on a lanyard. Saw two guys kissing at a bus stop and gave them a long “quuuaaaccckkk” out the window ...I didn’t have to say ONE word and totally infuriated them. Want to “fight back?” Buy a duck call and start having some fun with these jerks. It’s a real “blast!” They want to make an obscene display in public? Maybe they will think twice if they get a PCDCDC..politically correct duck commander duck call for their display.
I know what the idiotic poofters are upset about but what is the NAACP’s problem?
They really don’t know how to deal with people with principles and values that don’t need their money and have little desire for fame for the sake of fame alone. I predict that the DD clan will do JUST FINE in the wake of this, however it works out. On top of everything else they are smart businessmen.
That's exactly the kind of statement that got Phil Robertson in this situation.
GLADD and A&E needs to apologize, and do the shuffle, Not Phil.

So, I think A&E ought to stand by their principles and offer that season to another network for free. Refuse to air it. That is the only way to "suspend" Phil, right?
What A&E is doing now is dishonest. Appease the gay lobby but make millions off another season. Come on, A&E grow a pair. Oh, that's right . . .
They’ll take their show to INSP or some other Christian network and rocket them to the top of the ratings.
The comments are more often more conservative than Yahoo itself.
Mike Brezinski is not the only one has dibs on "disgusting". I call men that whose sole function in life revolves around them putting their reproductive organ in another man's rectum , while calling the world's attention to what they are doing and expecting to be praised for it, disgusting. Others may feel different, but that is my feelings on the subject.
Only if the homos are there to apologize to Phil. Otherwise, the heck with them. They aren't worth his time.

comments to the reporter were coarse, his beliefs are grounded in the teachings of the Bible. Phil is
a Godly man who follows what the Bible says are the greatest commandments: “Love the Lord your
God with all your heart” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Phil would never incite or encourage
hate. We are disappointed that Phil has been placed on hiatus for expressing his faith, which is his
constitutionally protected right. We have had a successful working relationship with A&E but, as a
family, we cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm. We are in
discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty. Again, thank you for
your continued support of our family.

Truthfully, I would rather see the Robertsons leave A&E and move to another network.
Why should they help A&E make more money from their Duck Commander brand and their family when they will have other broadcasters begging them to move over to a new venue?
A&E let a few high level homo managers think with their crothes instead of their brains when they used Phil’s interview to push their homo agenda.
Let A&E pay for their leftist pandering.
They need the Robertsons more that the Robertsons need them.
The Robertsons will go on to even greater success once they leave A&E but A& E will never win back the viewers loyal to the Robertsons.
