Duck Dynasty is A&E's number one money maker.
What happens to A&E if the whole Dynasty clan walks off the set?

I’m going to continue to watch DD on a&e, but nothing else, I’ll miss storage wars and I would occasionally watch 48 hours but no more until they make things right with Phil. I’ll also give the sponsors a pass until this is decided.
Haven’t heard any comment from Phil or Kay, but I suspect they could care less about any more $ from the network but would want any new viewers tuning in to see what the fuss is all about and hear the message of Christ, in spite of the network’s condemnation of it.
After all, Phil really DOES have bucks to hunt and Kay really DOES have biscuits to make and Christmas cookies to bake, as we speak.
A&E the new CNN and broke.
The company has earned enough for the family and employees to live comfortably for a long while without the TV money...
I hope Willie and Phil are engaging lawyers and cancel their contracts with A&E...I also hope they can sue A&E if they ever show any episodes of DD after the cancellation.
They can then, if they even want to continue, approach CMT for a continuation of the show....
A “non-compete” couldn’t/shouldn’t be enforced if someone is fired for expressing their religious values.
Better yet boycott A&E and just buy the DVD’s
I think the sponsors should jump all over A&E for this outrageous act against Phil’s opinion....
A&E gets a cut on the DVD sales, I'm sure.
Yes they would but so would the robertson family. It would just affect viewer raitings on the show, plus with DVD’s no commericals.
I was watching last night when I saw the flash from Drudge pop up on my tablet. I read the article and then promptly changed the channel. No more of any of A&E’s channels for me until they reinstate Phil and make a public apology. It’s a shame because most of the shows that I watch are on History or A&E but they’re both off my tv for now. I need to spend more time reading anyway!
DD is A&E's cash cow. I'm not hurting the Robertson's by boycotting...in fact maybe when their ratings plummet it will give them the impetus to move to another network.
Evidently A&E hasn’t noticed that the Robertsons don’t need a television show, and now, if they want one, they don’t need A&E to have one.
This is another example of the Era of Bad Stewards phenomenon: the executives of A&E (and its primary owners Hearst and Disney) are paid to look out for the interests of their shareholders, but are running the company as their own preserve, so enforcing their political opinions on content providers (Are the Robertsons contractors or employees vis-a-vis their participation in the show? It doesn’t matter for my point) is fine, even when doing so harms the bottom line and might even be against the political opinions of a majority of the shareholders — did they put this past a shareholder meeting? No.
Thanks for the advice but I believe in Free Market solutions and that means that I get to vote with my remote.
Merry Christmas and GOD bless... and I mean it!
LLS
that is a good list but A&E is owned by Disney
Even themselves.
I agree with not boycotting unless the circumstances are extremely unusual. a&e is a private company and they have the right to hire and fire as they wish to. I also have the right not to watch their network.
Merry Christmas!
