They were fired supposedly because terms of their contract could not be hammered out. It could have been salary but more than likely it was that Cleaar Channel wants WPGB to become a sports station. Some reports claim CC wanted to move Q&R to a lower power AM station. Presumably Rush and Hannity would also move there.
Then there are the conspiracy theories but I won’t go into that.
Basically we have to wait and see what shakes out.
I believe Rush has an option in all of his affiliate contracts which allows him to move his show to a station with higher power/better coverage if one becomes available.
I believe this clause allowed him to move from KQV to KDKA way back when. If he ended up on 970 it would not be for long.
