The West's policies on Iran and Syria are a "dangerous gamble" and Saudi Arabia is prepared to act on its own to safeguard security in the region, a top Saudi diplomat said.

I think you're right. I think the deal has already been made, they're just waiting for the green light from political leadership.
Saudi Arabia will allow Israeli aircraft to stage through their bases. This tremendously simplifies the problems for Israel in putting together a meaningful sized raid without using virtually their entire air force.
I believe it is also important to the Saudis that they not appear to be merely letting the Israelis use them. (and they're right about that) So I think they will not only allow the Israeli raid to use their bases, they will participate in the raid.
Only in the movies can two disparate air forces coordinate a raid with no prior planning and practice. They can't afford to be seen practicing together, rehearsing etc. So they won't be flying wingman for each other or hitting the same targets. I look for the Israelis to use their attack aircraft and precision weapons for most of the targets that matter, and to provide their own TARCAP. I look for the Saudis to provide a lot of the vital supporting attacks - hitting radar sites, air defense sites, airbases, etc. They'll make the corridor, the Israelis will fly through it. It sends a very strong message to Iran from the Saudis: we're not just letting the Israelis hit you, our beef with you is serious enough we will shed blood, yours and ours. (Kind of like blowing up someone's embassy...)

Gosh, it's almost as if lifting those sanctions on Iran is related, but golly, how could that be? The current Syrian situation is more and more like late 1970s Lebanon.
This is all about the proposed Saudi pipeline to Europe.

The Saudis won’t do anything to Iran. They are too fat, too soft, and too corrupt. Any war of extended length will wind up instead toppling their top-heavy regime. The Saudis defense policy until now has been to instill fear in oil markets and let the blue-eyed infidels fight their wars for them

There are the ultra-rich Saudi's (House of Saud) and a whole bunch of "not rich" Saudi's. The rich want to stay that way, and Iran is a threat. The U.S. has provided them with good equipment and bases for years. It's about time they used them to protect themselves. Huge added bonus is using the "enemy of my enemy", Israel.

Since obama can’t see two moves ahead on the chessboard, I suspect he can’t envision what his actions have wrought! He has set forces in motion that cannot be stopped at this late date.
And his actions toward our military have and will continue to discourage voluntary enlistments to enable us to replenish our forces to the extent that we will have unmanned equipment sitting idle, unmaintained, and ill-equipped.
