I’m glad to see I’m not the only demented one here ;-) Actually I was thinking Fuddy was her maiden name, before she met Mr. Duddy...and decided to forgo the hypenation.
It sounds like this was simple misfortune, and that she was pretty much gone before the rescue. Stress alone can kill a person, literally. Besides, what purpose would it serve to envision some conspiracy over the BC? We already know it’s a fake and it’s highly doubtful she is the one who faked it. If the point is that someone may have bribed her, I don’t need much proof to support that theory.

This is the mortal weakness of conservative conspiracy mongers: they just aren’t very good at it. Anyone can point out a “strange coincidence” or two, but if you can’t make a logical case connecting them into a plausible narrative that makes sense, then it makes for a crap theory.
