Seems to me this officer was being really nice and would much rather not have to do this “garbage”. Neighbor calls police, Lt. directs cop. He’s mostly laughing at the situation. He knows it’s BS, but has to answer call.
The officer should know whether or not the driveway is a public place, as opposed to the street curb in front of the house.
If the driveway is not public space, then the officer is violating law and harassing the citizens.
I’ve encountered officers in two small situations who did not know the law. (Lane markings on a city street. City parking sign interpretations.)
Agree entirely.
Good guy crappy task.
That’s right...It’s not the government employees fault as they looked for other violations...
Would you work for a corrupt business, who routinely invaded the privacy and private property of others?
Are they forced to work for controlling corrupt government?
I got kind of the same impression. I thought the officer was polite. These are dumb laws but police are obligated to respond. Some communities where I live don't even allow the parking of commercial vehicles such as vans and pick up trucks on public streets in residential areas or even in driveways or yards on private property where they are visible from the street. Where I live you can't park an unregistered or improperly registered vehicle on your own property if it's visible from the street. I don't agree with it but it is the laws that need to be changed instead of faulting the cops but obviously it's the people in these communities that choose to enact these stupid laws. These kids had a little bit of an attitude also. The car also had improper plates on it. I wouldn't be surprised if they were driving the car on the street.
It seems the officer was helpful until the implied threat - you don’t want us to get upset with you guys. Nice officer!
