Officials: Reports of shots fired at Kirkwood H.S.

KIRKWOOD, MO (KTVI) – Kirkwood police responded to a call for shots fired at Kirkwood High School. Police are blocking several entrances to the Kirkwood High School campus.

School has been delayed for the high school, but all other schools will start on time.

The Kirkwood police chief said there was a report of shots fired that came in just before 6 a.m. Officers are checking the building but according to the police chief, nothing has been found yet.

A box of lightbulbs falls, a janitor mistakes it for a gunshot and calls 911, SWAT teams descend on the school, everyone is evacuated to a mile away, the school is swept from top to bottom and the box of lightbulbs is found.

It won’t be long before most students and teachers and parents will all be on sedatives 24-7.

I remember in HIgh School. Way be in the early 70’s I was in the office one morning (not in trouble mind you), when the assistance principal got a phone call and yelled “oh Yeah, go ahead.” He hung up laughed and said “another bomb threat.” YOu could get away with that in those days. What a change since then.
