So true. Dubya did not do us any favors. The day he got elected I had such high hopes of all the things he might be able to accomplish in 8 years. I know he got blindsided by 911 but he basically did nothing to enhance the republic the whole time. I don’t look for much anything to come out of the Republican party unless we can get a good 50% tea party people elected.

Did Bush eliminate or weaken airport security profiling measures just before 9/11, in order to follow up on his 2000 election pledges?

Ironically, in an attempt to appeal to the growing number of Arab-American and Muslim voters, exactly eleven months ago George W. Bush called for weakening airport security procedures aimed at deterring hijackers.

On Oct. 11, 2000, during the second presidential debate, the Republican candidate attacked two anti-terrorist policies that had long irritated Arab citizens of the U.S.

If so, that would be in keeping with a bunch of other moronic things he did, in the name of political correctness. A trillion here (PC leads to 9/11, 9/11 leads to Afghanistan and Iraq) and a trillion there (PC leads to bad loans to blacks and Hispanics, which leads to the housing bubble, followed by collapse, and huge amounts of bad housing loans), pretty soon we're talking real money.
