IDF First Sergeant Shlomi Cohen, 31, of Afula, was killed on Sunday evening after being hit by sniper fire near Israel's northern border with Lebanon.
The attack took place near Rosh Hanikra, in northwestern Israel, and was perpetrated by a soldier from the Lebanese army. A military source who spoke with Arutz Sheva said that the Lebanese soldier fired at least seven bullets at an IDF vehicle.
Cohen's family has been notified.
Israel has filed a complaint with the UN over the incident, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said in a statement.
“The IDF reserves the right to respond when and where it sees fit,” the statement added.

Brink about ten 155mm self-propelled howitzers near the border at Rosh HaNikra. Then start pummeling the crap out of them for about 24 hours. Level everything in range of these guns. Then send the guns home.
Then we’d be at war, which is just what they want. One good snipe deserves another. Mossad can find the perp. IDF special forces can take him out clean and then disappear.
Tit for tat doesn’t really work with Muzzies.
I kind of see the Muzzies similar to the Terminator units from the movie, “The Terminator”(1984), where the character Kyle Reese says the following about them...
Kyle Reese: “Listen, and understand. That terminator is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.”
It makes no sense to give them a war when they want one, because then you are helping them, by shoring up support for Assad and Hizbollah. Tit for tat is just a first installment on a war that will occur when it is useful for us, not them. Right now, we give them some tit for tat, make more popcorn, and watch them kill each other in Syria. Hizbollah, Assad and Iran lose credibility and resources. Salafists, El Qaeda and other nut jobs die killing them, and they die killing each other. We allow ourselves to get into a war with Lebanon, and suddenly they all unite. Who needs that? Who needs even a chance of that?

Update: Results of IDF Sniper Attack Investigation

The IDF has announced the results of its investigation of the shooting of Senior NCO Shlomi Cohen.
The Lebanese sniper made a silent approach to about 200-300 meters from the border, and took the shot under cover of darkness and camouflaged by bushes.
Cohen was alone in a standard non-bulletproof vehicle.
RIP.
