In Matthew 25 we have the parable of the Talents wherein the quest for prosperity is praised and honored. “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

The timid and afraid who do not seek to prosper have what little they have taken from them and given to those who have.

I’d love to hear the Pope discourse on this part of Jesus’ teaching

Maybe you are kidding but if not.

Take a read of the story in Luke. It isn’t about worldly prosperity. In fact we are given the reason for the story here:

Luk 19:11 And as they heard these things, He added and spoke a parable, BECAUSE He was near Jerusalem, and BECAUSE they thought that the kingdom of God was about to appear immediately.

It would appear to be a story about Jesus and his Kingdom. We are familiar with the servants, but note the citizens in the story. Luke 19:12-27
