Seats were still being filled up more than an hour into the funeral service of Nelson Mandela today as soldiers moved in to occupy empty chairs.....
Empty seats however could still be seen in parts of the marquee more than an hour into the event ...
Elsewhere, stadiums where the funeral was being screened were left unfilled this morning.
According to IOL News, the Lucas Moripe stadium, in Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria, was virtually empty.
The stadium was one of a number of venues across South Africa showing live footage of the funeral.
Ellis Park Stadium, in Johannesburg, also reportedly remained empty shortly before 8am while Orlando Stadium had few people in at 7.45am.

Strange since the service was really only being held in one. What was happening in the other stadiums? Chicken fights?

I thought I saw a trailer for a Mendela movie coming out soon.
And similar to Obama nobody really likes the man, they like the myth. When he died nobody cared. Will anyone weep for Obama? Does he even have any real friends?
Even with some empty seats, he had more attendees than most of us will have. I am kind of impressed by how many people have gone to the various funerals. That is the other thing, he had numerous funeral events. I can’t imagine anybody wanting to go to more than one or two. The guy is still a communist but had a ton of people at his many funerals.
I'd love to see Michelle "run like hell" after seeing that.
