Who Funds the Far Left? You’ll Be Surprised
Powerline ^ | 12-13-13 | John Hinderaker

The Center for American Progress is a left-wing organization that is closely associated with the Obama administration. Its principal product is a web site called Think Progress. Think Progress is part of the internet cesspool that modern liberalism has become. Written by hack left-wing bloggers, it is bitterly hostile to free enterprise. It is a low-rent site that traffics in the most absurd smears and conspiracy theories. Many have wondered for some years who finances far-left web sites like Think Progress. As of today, we know at least part of the answer, as CAP released its corporate donor list for the first time.

CAP says that individuals and foundations account for more than 90% of its funding, and corporations only around 6%. It would be interesting to see the individual and foundation donor list; my guess is that left-wing foundations, most of which spend money left by dead conservatives, would loom large. But what corporations fund Think Progress’s anti-free enterprise propaganda? The full list is here; it includes:

Communism, complete govt owned business is on the left.

Capitalism, complete private owned business is on the right.

National Socialism, Nazism, “The Third Way” is a combination of private owned business with the backing of the govt. to put their competition out of business.

People better wake up, Hillary and her “Third Way” campaign is not taking us to Marxism.

Hillary and her Third Way campaign is taking us to fascism, Nazism.

It’s pretty safe to assume that these corporations have mostly the usual Leftist Beltway types, at best a few GOPe hacks, as their lobbyists.

But the banks certainly have paid protection money over the years to keep the likes of Acorn off the front lawns of their executives.

You are no doubt right about it being extortion.

At the Free Republic March for Justice in Washington, DC, on Oct. 31, 1998, there was a man from State Farm who described how the Clintons had extorted several million dollars from them. That must be going on all the time.

Who Funds the Far Left? You’ll Be Surprised

Judging by the events of the last week, it looks like John Boehner and Paul Ryan.

Regulations don’t drive up prices and profits directly. But they do repress competition because it’s harder for the little guys to comply plus it prevents new entries into the marketplace.

Many would be entrepreneurs look at all the regs and compliance issues and costs and say never mind, it’s too much trouble.

It’s the lack of competition that drives up prices.

>>Government + corporations = fascism.

Coorporations + lobby bribery/extortion + too big to fail + monopoly = fascism.

You know people, the ding dong corporations don’t have to crawl into bed with government, nobody has a gun to their heads. It’s CORPORATE ETHICS that need an upgrade. Who was it that Republican President Eisenhower warned us against?

All you need to know about why this happens can be found here: EXTORTION: How Politicians Extract Your Money, Buy Votes and Line Their Own Pockets by Peter Schweizer.

I just finished reading this. It is very disturbing, but one chapter explains why outfits like Microsoft, among others, can't afford to NOT contribute to operatives on both sides. The cost of having contributed to only one side is very high. "Once the train has left the station, the price of the ticket goes way up."

The author has several suggestions as to what needs to be done to get control of the problem; Rand Paul has just introduced three bills that mirror three of those suggestions.

The bills, S.1663, Write the Laws Act, S.1664, One Subject at a Time Act and S.1665, Read the Bills Act, would require Congress to write legislation more clearly and actually read the bills before passing them.

Other suggestions had to do with eliminating "Leadership PACs" which are mainly used to get around contribution limitations and are used as slush funds for buying cooperation from other legislators and limiting the use of fundraisers while Congress is in session to avoid extorting money from interested groups just as pivotal votes are about to be taken.

The friends or corporations are given the money to become rich. Then they become slaves of the left.
