In a stunning reversal of the popular image of Jang as a mentor and father figure guiding young Kim Jong Un as he consolidated power, North Korea's state-run media on Friday announced he had been executed and portrayed him as a morally corrupt traitor who saw the death of Kim's father, Kim Jong Il, in December 2011 as an opportunity to make his own power play.

Eventually he’ll just kill everybody.
And you'd be wise to do a search for ERNST ROHM. It was he who organized and ran the Brown Shirts that brought Hitler to power. But when his usefulness to Hitler ended, so did Rohm's life in a prison cell with a bullet to the brain BECAUSE, IN ADDITION TO BECOMING TOO OBVIOUSLY BRUTAL AT THAT EARLY STAGE, HITLER VIEWED HIM AS A POTENTIAL RIVAL! YOU MORONS WHO THINK YOU'LL BE THE PRINCES IN THE NEW ORDER MIGHT WANT TO THINK ABOUT THAT!
We need some purges of our own.
Since Jang was a mentor the mentor guiding young Kim Jong Un brought up a morally corrupt traitor. Mentor teach the young to be their equal. One can conclude Kim Jong Un is a traitor. Sick 'em n. korean military. A traitor is in charge.
Reminds me of the fate of those not telling the truth in our own nation, because change is not based on hope. Thanks Mr. Bachert!
I probably shouldn’t, but I find that whole North Korean cult of personality fascinating. I can’t help read every article I see.
It’s mind boggling to me how these people can’t figure out everything they’re missing. How the Army can’t figure it out. They actually believe the Kim’s are divinely bestowed onto North Korea? If that were true, would they die? Don’t these people have rational thought? It’s amazing how an entire population can be so brainwashed....
When David was on his deathbed, Bathsheba and her son Solomon were worried about it from Adonijah the heir to be.
However, it was Solomon who became King, and he found a way to put rival Adonijah to death.
Eventually hell just kill everybody.
Can be couner-productive. At some point, the surviving officials start to believe they'll be killed eventually anyway, so have nothing to lose by an individual or collective grab for power.
What is interesting to me is the strong correspondence with ancient and medieval Korean history. They have a looonnnggg history of hermit kingdoms, hereditary God-Kings, and vicious court faction fights.
Interestingly, after the Night of the Long Knives Hitler’s inner circle was surprisingly durable. They fought amongst themselves for his favor, which he encouraged, but he felt no farther need to enforce his authority by killing them.
This contrasts strongly with Stalin, who killed his acolytes with regularity right up to his demise.
Allegedly, Beria caught wind that he was about to be purged, and poisoned Stalin.
Chubby Kim has an older brother. Things could get real nasty real fast.
My guess is Kim wanted a new mentor.
Being the guys Uncle doesn’t seem to matter much.
Sometimes the power behind the throne get the axe.
DUDE! YOU GOT A DELL!
See the computer behind him?
Not a big problem as long as they keep it in the family...cleans out the gene pool nicely.
His pants are too long. Silly looking.
Didn’t they start this week in Hawaii with Fuddy?
Do you think those Nork soldiers have any idea how stupid their hats look?
