I was stationed in Spain from 68-72...I had leave Christmas 69, so several of us decided to go to Rome..That year it snowed (lightly) in Rome for the first time in almost 100 years. I vividly recall seeing tens of thousands of Italians everywhere standing outside, looking up childlike at the sky..and attempting to taste the snowflakes as they fell..

“That year it snowed (lightly) in Rome for the first time in almost 100 years.”

Take a look at this story.

Israel blanketed with snow after heavy falls as rain floods Gaza Strip

The snow follows similar flurries across Egypt, where snow fell in Cairo for the first time in 112 years.
