A cross atop Mount Soledad in California is an unconstitutional religious display on government land and must come down, a federal judge in San Diego ruled late Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Larry Burns ordered the cross, which honors veterans, must be removed within 90 days -- a decision that could result in the case being sent back to the U.S. Supreme Court. Burns immediately stayed his order pending an expected appeal.

What desire, do you think, does a flame emerging from the grave express?

I might suggest you actually do a little research on what the eternal flame expresses...

There is one in the tomb of the unknown soldier in the Arc de Triomphe in France...

You actually think these nameless soldiers are damned to hell because of a flame on top of their grave...?

You actually think having a cross on your gravestone is indicative of your final place...

I am sure the creators of these "eternal flames" had something other than damnation to hell in mind. However, symbols are chosen by what they signify. It is possible that somewhere in Amazon jungle the flame has no satanic connotation; but in the civilized world that is what it means, just like a cross means the victory over death worked by Jesus.

When in a Christian nation a Catholic family chooses flames for a grave symbol that speaks illiteracy about them, and by extension about us.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is nothing but a Pagan symbol, characteristic of the French cultural decline and really a monument only to that.
