Conservative activists are hitting back.
More than 50 high profile conservatives signed onto a statement Wednesday responding to both House Speaker John Boehners harsh words for conservative groups earlier in the day and to the firing of the Republican Study Committees long-time executive director Paul Teller.
It is clear that the conservative movement has come under attack on Capitol Hill today, the statement reads.

I don’t think this is going to end well.
I’m making a list and checking it twice. RINOs will ALL get coal for their 2014. I will NOT vote or support ANY candidate who is anti-Tea Party. PERIOD!
I could be wrong, but I am thinking they dump us, in exchange for disenchanted Democrats, ANDDD.......(are you ready).....the Latino vote, via Amnesty.
Nice take. Zactly, too. There are few conservatives in our country, because their are even fewer practicing Christians. This is why our job is made so hard. God is out, and strictly politics is in.
That will never really be a winning hand.
Resulting in the Dems launching total war on the GOP and spending all their money .power/political capital with the rest of America.
Sounds like a win for America. They beat each other to political death, the Latinos go mercenary and the stranglehold on power is over...
One possible way it would play out.
What? Where is Norm going? I missed something, didn’t I?
Norm?
Believe me when I say "I know." I've had offers to move out of state that I've really wanted to take, however my charming and delightful wife really wants to wait until our kids are out of high school.
I can understand her point. I moved (twice!) when I was in high school and it was incredibly disruptive academically as well as socially which is really important with two teenage sons.....
Norm, do you think that the Libertarians will gain big from those of us, from all sides, who are fed up.
I would stay home than vote GOPe or libertopian
Lots (maybe most) of the "Contact Me" forms on the Congressmen's websites work that way.
In some respects, I can't blame them. Why should Boehner give a damn about what anyone outside his district has to say to him? If/when he ever does care, he can ask his caucus.
I think an Opus has to be its own thread, or it doesn’t count.
Great post. All you guys get it. That is comforting.
We had two leftist GOP hacks in Pa, who we absolutely HAD to support, Arlen Specter and Barbara Hafer. The GOP-e pushed these frauds hard, and both ultimately turned Democrats officially. Boehner is much like these two sleazes. Bob
ok Norm. God’s speed to you. I’m sure, like me, you’re still looking for the opportunities a true conservative sees, even now. take care. the main battle is now moving to the states and to the people themselves. it’s always been a holding action at the federal level. the people will have to choose their master pretty soon.
Hi Rita,
I just have had it with the stupid mazqurading as “Conaervative”. As for the libritarians, They likely will gain. And the reason is that 1: We on the right never gave the younger voters a viable option. 2: plenty of moderate/semi moderate Republicans who have had it with the GOP will go there before a 3rd party since again, we as conservatives cannot get our poop together enough to form a cohesive unit/voting block.
As the past year cemented in stone, so called “Conservatives” will vote for a baby killing Liberal (See Romney and his abortion legislation/Statements/planned Parenthood support). People try mightily to pretend they didn’t and make that part of his history go away. But they did.
Some people admitted their mistake, some fight to ensure we keep electing that type of Republican. Facts are facts. But my point is this. When someone on the outside looks at us, what do they see? We boast huff and puff about conservative this and Reagan that. But do we live up to it?
Many refuse to try, then attack those who make an effort. To a person on the outside that looks like exactly what it is. Pure hypocrisy. And since we cannot even decide what we are/truly believe as a group, few want to associate with that.
Granted, even it we did, we’d not get them all. But we’d get more than we will now as we have no core belief/philosophy that we as ‘Conservatism” agree on.
Ugly truth but I defy anyone to prove that wrong.
What about those whom “lost it all”, and wouldn’t fight? Could you convince them now that they must? My point is there are more being made into losers every hour, under this regime, so your sympathizers should be finally growing as we speak.
Obamacare will bring along the entire middle class for you next year.
Its in our towns and here on the net EVERY TIME you see one of their minions say Lesser evil, Ill fight in the primary but vote GOP no matter who it is and the like.
For a majority of these folks who believe in such rot, I would no doubt surmise themselves to be ardent adherents to their faith. It baffled me for a long time how a religious and moral people could somehow forget the scriptural admonition that "Darkness has no part with Righteousness" - and surrender their principles and "vote the lesser of evils" when we are told that evil cannot have any part of what is right.
The fact is this people have bought a Satanic lie, that they can compartmentalize their faith - and separate politics from their religious life. This is how we lost the culture - and this is how we lost the Republic, but hinting we can keep God in a Box, and that our political choices have no bearing on our religious life and obligations.
This is why you have a people who will tell you that voting for the lesser of two evils is righteousness, and that refusing to vote for the foisted candidate is a greater evil.
Scripture tells us to beware of those who call good 'evil' and who call evil 'good' that woe will befall them.
I submit that woe is befallen the entire nation because we have decided to do just that. We are devoid of religion and morality - but continue to deceive ourselves that we are righteous - and that is why we have lost our Republic and the Constitution is in tatters.
Bottom line is conservatives need to present both Boehner in the House and McConnell in the Senate with a letter resigning from the Republican Caucus in each body. Tell them if they intend to govern like Democrats, then they’d rather have the professionals in charge than be stabbed in the back by their own.
But are they fighting? Obama has been in action for 5 years. The GOP fully turned shortly after that. Yet here on the most conservative of remaining forums, to say nothing of lesser forums, the crys of “Vote for the GOP/Lesser Evil/Any GOP is better than a Dem” go largely unopposed by more than a handfull.
Where are all the people wh were slaughtered financially et all by those very policies/sentiments? Sure they are waking up. But they are sitting on the sidelines waiting for and allowing others to speak for them rather than being the Americans the founders and generations since fought for.
And getting in the fight themselves.
Don’t knock ex dems. We may find lots of them out there now. We welcome ex dems! Even better, ex commies who get it - see David Horowitz!
