The simmering feud between House Republicans and movement conservatives is finally an all-out war.
The tension exploded on Wednesday morning when Speaker John Boehner and outside conservative groups traded sharp barbs over the budget deal Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) crafted with Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). It only escalated later in the day when the leader of the right-wing Republican Study Committee forced out its long-time executive director for leaking private conversations about strategy to those organizations.
-snip-
John Boehner has apparently decided to join Mitch McConnell in the war on conservatives, Senate Conservatives Fund executive Director Matt Hoskins said. McConnell called us fringe traitors who should be locked in a bar and punched in the nose, and now Boehner is lashing out at us too. Conservatives everywhere need to understand that partys leadership has declared war on them. If they dont fight back, they will always regret it. Were going to hang together or hang separately.

A conservative in the house should call for Pelosi to be returned as speaker and say that all the “tea party” types that boner hates will vote with the democrats. I wonder what boner would have to say about that.
Cruz should be Speaker (or Jim DeMint).
boehner’s done
That would be a most curious alliance, to be sure - T.E.A. party types uniting with rabid leftists AGAINST Boehner, to put Nanacy Pelosi back in as House Speaker. What voice would the T.E.A. people have then?
Better the fight should erupt out in the open, right now, than later on during the primary period. Perhaps, between now and then, a compromise may be worked out where separate strident factions among the Republicans will not be openly supporting one candidate or another on purely ideological grounds.
Let the primary voters decide on a reasonably level playing field, then once a standard bearer is selected in any given district, go after the REAL opponent with enough enthusiasm to insure victory. At that point there is more that unites Republicans than divides them, or at least it would so seem.
The REAL opponents, and the ones that prevent ANY Republican in the district from exerting power, are the Democrats who were elected by default.
and you wonder why the Democrats always win.
What a dork.
Conservatives have been saying - for a long time - that this fight had to happen. The McConnells and Boehners are selling us out at every turn and calling it ‘pragmatic politics’. No more.
GOPe death rattle? They know who turns out crowds, and it ain’t them, and crowd-turning-out time is upon us in months.
They shouldn’t put Pelosi back in but they should threaten it. Then tell the rinos they can vote with them for a true conservative.
No chance Dems will do anything going forward but protect Mitch and John, by giving them huge help in bashing conservatives. They certainly have rolled these two already and hung them on the door hook. Dems can’t possibly hope for two better playmates than these two.
Boehner also licked Obama’s boots and tried to get us in a shooting war on the side of Jihadists in Syria.
Doesn’t that tell you everything you need to know about him?
Nope, I vote Tom Delay for speaker of the house. He doesn’t have to be a congressman and he’s perfect fit to go tete-a-tete with Podesta.
I’d be down with TD. He knowz the ropes.
Time to think seriously about a third party!
“Cruz should be Speaker (or Jim DeMint).”
No, Cruz should be the Majority Leader in the Senate since he’s already a Senator. Put Trey Gowdy in as Speaker.
At this point I hope the GOP is thrown out in 2014. What good will another big win in the House and Senate do?
Remember 2005 and 2006? They acted like drunken Dems spending like crazy. And falling for hoaxes like “global warming” and helping statist take our freedoms away.
Does anyone remember it was the GOP that passed the ban on the incandescent light bulb?
I think you’re right. I’m optimistic. Some of these guys are going to lose in the primaries and it will send a clear and loud message. You have to stay with your conservative principles and values.
(Hoping Boehner loses for obvious reasons.)
“Time to think seriously about a third party!”
Not really. We’re on the verge of kicking out a goodly number of RINOs and taking over the Republican party. Starting a third party would take prodigious amounts of money. Are you willing to pledge your fortune? Let us know the dollar amount.
You know you’ve made an idiot’s financial pact when leftists are satisfied.
