Yeh, it’s sad to see Morris so underappreciated.
The current cast of SNL isn’t very funny, and there have been only a few bright spots on the show in the past decade.
Andy Samberg typifies the dull humor: “Oh, he’s doing/saying something anti-social. Funny!”
Will Ferrell is the Owen Wilson of comedy. The same self-unaware character being reconstituted everywhere.
Another example is Bill Hader’s “Stefon” character. Are we supposed to be accepting of flamboyantly gay people, or laugh at them? Laughing at them on the small screen is an option for bien pensant liberals, I guess.
I realize that none of these three are on the show any longer, but they set the template that is being followed.
SNL is definitely not what it use to be...
But then again, has our familiarity with humor and current events back then been supplanted with what is the norm now???
Geesh, I’d like to think we (my generation) still have (has) a sense of humor, and know whats funny these days, just like the latest generation(s) has now...
