Posted on 12/11/2013 3:10:00 AM PST by Timber Rattler

Mark Levin put Paul Ryan through his paces, as Ryan himself said at the end of the interview. Certainly Levin didn’t pull any punches as they discussed the new budget agreement, even calling it “Mickey Mouse.”

Yeah I do realize it. What do you think would be better - and achievable?

See that’s an unpleasant part of leadership. Whiners constantly bitch about things over which there is little or no control. Go pick up your kleenex and go cry somewhere else until you have a better option to put up.

Beating your chest is stupid.

I don't like it but I accept it as the best that Ryan could get.

That's why I like it too. No more using CRs to bash us...during this Congress.

I agree, but again, in case you haven’t noticed, the people who control the Senate and the person in the WH do NOT AGREE WITH US!!!

elections have consequences…..you can fantasize all you want, but reality is what it is.

It may indeed be the best we can get…and if it does allow a laser focus on Obama Care and the IRS - thru the 2014s - then we will remove a lot of Democrats from power.

That's something I like too - keeps the focus from drifting to budget issues. Stay focused on the things bringing dems way down.

The Ryan’s and the Reid’s increase spending and the national debt, they only disagree on the rate of speed.

ONLY on rate of speed? Hmmm. Let me think. A car crash at 25 is just as bad as a crash at 80? Stage one cancer is just as bad as stage four? You wanna rethink your "only" in that statement?????

While “achieving” ourselves to the poor house makes more sense? Maybe you missed the latest that they discovered the “shutdown” did not hurt us at all. In fact, I would wager that it actually helped but that would not be “achieving” anything now would it?

Yep, and the Ted Cruz stand in the summer was brilliant and needed…but that’s not what is needed now IMO from a strategic and tactical point of view.

Whatever happened to just passing a budget, as required by law. Cutting spending, and then standing your ground when you’re being attacked by the Democrats.

Where have you been? Dems eliminated the normal budget process when they went to CRs. CRs have effectively removed the power of the purse from the House. Like last time, they tried to revert to individual bills but it didn't work. Have you been hibernating? It didn't work.

If all you have is personal attacks based on a screenname, you really are lost. Maybe it's just your anger over 0bama trying to take over all 3 branches coming out? I forgive you.

But you should know that it makes you look small when you do personal attacks. Respect is lost. Just sayin'

That’s not good enough because the history of the years since Reagan left office are clear.

When Republicans had power for instance, Medicare Part D was created by a Republican controlled Congress and President, increasing spending and driving up the national debt.

You want us to believe that if we keep on voting for the business as usual Republicans and give them power, things will change NOT.......

The Christie’s, McConnell’s, Cornyn’s and Boehner’s would amend Obamacare to create Romneycare, still forcing everyone to buy insurance in a marketplace more favorable to private insurance companies.

Big government must be reversed but everytime it got bigger in the last 80 years because of Democrats, the Republicans did not reverse it when they gained power.

The programs created are unsustainable with a 17 trillion dollar debt upon us. The GOP is not interested in stopping the upcoming train wreck. They are planning a slower speed disaster.

I guess you’re admitting the game Republicans are playing with us.

They have no real intention of balancing the budget which should have been done a long time ago.

My gosh what is it with you? Who said going to the poor house makes sense? You just make stuff up out of your head?

The shutdown didn't hurt us except politically - it wasn't even a "shutdown" ... it was a 17% "slowdown" and we saved a ton of money until fed workers got backpay for their 16 day vacation.

It did not help politically in spite of the fact that it was 100% Harry Reid and 0bama who are responsible for it. That is why the CR process has effectively removed from the House the power of the purse. This deal takes the power away from the Senate at least.

You are uninformed.

Like they used to say at Burger King . . . . doing anything for political expediency is why we are here in the first place.

No, not admitting that per se…..I am looking strategically down the road. The fact remains that Reid and Obama are NEVER EVER EVER under any circumstances going to agree to budget terms you and I favor. That’s a fact. That’s reality. I deal in reality.

I have also written many columns and two books about how the GOP e is responsible for getting us in this situation……but having said that, today, we are IN this situation. It’s called situational awareness…..

Last summer was time to plant a flag…and Cruz did….which I supported from day one. Now is not that time. Be aware.

I'm sorry, I thought we were having an adult conversation. Pardon me for over estimating you. That's straw bullshit……I'm widely published anti GOP e author….but I do realize that in the narrow scope of this budget deal, where we are. You should too.

He mentioned repeatedly how his own caucus was not on board with "no new spending". If the pubbies are insisting on buying votes as the DemonRats always are, there is no path forward that doesn't include bankruptcy. Plan accordingly.

Sad but true, barring a miraculous Tea Party landslide in 2014, and a Tea Party president in '16.

It comes out about even if you can stomach waiting 10 years for the full amount of the reductions to take place.

That would be great if we could afford to wait ten years. Since GOP-E Republicans are tripping all over themselves to cave on Obamacare, that's ten economic years we don't have.

There is a fuzzy line sometimes between political expediency and reality. You are not going to get what you want with this Senate and this President. You are not. Not under any circumstance, period, end of story. Let me repeat: what you want, (and what I want) are NOT NOT NOT NOT going to happen until Obama is gone and Reid is out of power. It may not happen then, but it certainly is NOT going to happen before.

Now it’s probably folks like you who sat home and gave us this story…….maybe not you personally, but you get the idea. There are times to plant your flag….like Cruz did…and times to play more subtle strategy. I don’t like or trust Ryan, and I don’t really like this deal, but it’s not awful either. Like Levin said, its Mickey Mouse.

Our goal has to be the control of both houses to pass legislation to reverse all the marxist measures. A Presidential win is important following that.

The issue that gets us there is the failure occurring over our whole healthcare segment of the economy which should be the only issue we allow the nation to focus on during the election cycle. We continue to move forward on corruption in foreign affairs and the IRS to keep measures to change the subject line at bay.

All of this is possible without focus on Continuing Resolutions. If we burn all the time up on manageable cuts we never get the Senate and control of this process and we never hold them accountable for ObamaCare.

Is it guilty of wasting our nation’s treasure while we work to gain the reins — certainly, but the electorate will give us the reins for only one reason, the coming failure of ObamaCare.

If you find out anything different, please do let us know.

You let the Dems shut down the government, and you only give press conferences with a 20 foot tall graph of the budget deficit from WWII to the present.

I think its time to demand smaller government and personal freedom and vote accordingly, including third party if necessary until the GOP gets the message.

The third party option was exercised in Canada in the 1990’s.

Canada didn’t die because of it.....
