What we got is Obamacare will be still be the headline issue in 2014.

That’s worth a lot. Obamacare will bankrupt this country long before federal spending does us in.

But some conservatives want to bend over to make Obama look good by shutting down the federal government again!

In the face of a Democratic Senate, this is best deal we can get get and we need to make sure the Democrats pay the price for inflicting Obamacare upon America.

Not really. The GOP leadership have doubled down on the same loser tip toe to the election strategy. If they continue to refuse to engage the Dems they will lose again. Expecting outrage over kenyancare to magically carry their sorry behinds over finish line in 2014 is a day dream.

What happened to the “this changes everything” after the GOP got nuked a couple weeks ago? Nothing changed. Beltway business as usual. Dems charging hard and a rudderless GOP MIA. Time to buy a clue and stop buying the GOP party line, FRiend.

Paul Ryan is a turn-coat, or always was a closet RINO in sheep’s clothing. I won’t vote for another McCain, Romney or Bush. Add Christy and Ryan to the list, and I will stay home in 2016 no matter how much it hurts to see Hillary as the next commie POTUS. FU Republican Party!

Why would the Dems agree to a deal favorable to the GOP right now?

Because they are weak right now? Like I said, I'm still skeptical but I would like to see what some groups like Heritage and Cato have to say about it before I start jumping up and down screaming RINO!

Interestingly, one of the Pubs most unhappy with this is supposed to be Mitch McConnell. It seems he views the sequester as his crowning achievement and is going to run on it.

Ryan [has] voted for the $700 billion bank bailout, the biggest Medicare expansion in U.S. history, a massive highway bill that included the “Bridge to Nowhere” and other big-ticket priorities when George W. Bush was president - going to bat for a high-spending GOP agenda that the tea party base now looks on with regret.

Unfortunately, Republicans have shown a willingness to negotiate on the sequester, even though they have all the leverage (given that the default position is that the sequester takes effect January 15). The sequester would automatically lower the discretionary caps from an annualized level of $1.027 trillion to $967 billion. Murray and Ryan are on the cusp of a deal to increase spending by roughly $30-50 billion, bringing the total to over $1 trillion in discretionary budget authority. The remaining point of contention is over the source of offsetting revenue. Among other things, they plan to raise taxes on airline tickets, even at a time when travelers are already suffering from high costs.

Moreover, vitiating the sequester for 2014 will set the stage for abolishing the only spending cuts we’ve secured for the rest of the 10-year budget frame. Additionally, there might be more spending increases tacked onto the final agreement because, as we noted last week, Congress usually extends Medicare ‘doc fix’ at the end of every year. The annual fix to reimburse doctors for the underpayments under the government reimbursement rate, known as the SGR formula, could cost as much as $30 billion.

Conservatives should be prepared to oppose any budget deal that funds Obamacare and increases spending or taxes. It is likely that the conference committee will reach a preliminary deal but won’t have time to vote on it until January. It would be best for conservatives to push for passage of each appropriations bill separately so we can isolate funding for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) without shutting down the rest of the government.

There is no way I vote for ANY Republicans in 2014. Conservative, or NOTHING.

If they’re just going to behave like RATS, why bother?
