Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon said yesterday that Iran has built up a terror infrastructure in Central and South America from which to attack Jewish and Israeli targets in the region and as a base for attacking inside the United States.
“The Iranians use diplomatic mail in order to transport bombs and weapons,” he said in a meeting with visiting Guatamalan President Otto Fernando Perez Molina, himself a former intelligence chief in his country. “We know that there are states in South America like Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Bolivia where the Iranians have terror bases, both in the embassies and among the local Shiite Muslim populations.”
Yaalon pointed to the indictment of two Iranian nationals in Federal Court in New York two years ago for allegedly plotting to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington and said the Iranians were using drug routes to smuggle weapons into the United States.
“They built this infrastructure,” said Yaalon, “for the eventuality that they will have to act against Jews or Israeli interests. But it is important to them as an infrastructure that enables them to act within the United States.”
Several congressmen last summer attacked a State Department report that concluded Iranian influence in the Western Hemisphere was “waning.” Rep. Matt Salmon (R., Ariz.) said the department’s report “lacked the depth and seriousness that this very important national security issue warrants.”
The State Department said shortly afterwards it would review its findings following publication of a report by an Argentinian prosecutor, Alberto Nisman, which found that Iranian undercover activity in the hemisphere was not waning but increasing.
Nisman headed the official Argentinian investigation into the bombing of a Jewish center in Buenos Aires in 1994 in which 85 were killed and hundreds wounded. Nisman concluded that since that event Iran has continued to expand its covert terror network in South America.
Yaalon said Iran is pursuing a nuclear weapon not only to protect the regime in Teheran but also to provide a muscular backup to their pursuit of subversion abroad.
“Their goal is regional and global hegemony,” he said.
Central and south?? Im sure they have operations right here too, all with a wink and nod from our govt. Its been going on for many many years.
Iran has political, military influence on a global scale far beyond that of which it rates based on its world conomic rank. The Iraninas are the wiliest, shrewdest motley crew of rogues, rapscallions, peg-legged ne’er do-wells to come down the pike since the days of the Jolly Roger. And as they exploit their ability to impose their will, global
perspective they are only going to exapnd their capabilities that much more, in doing what they do best that is, to sowing upheaval, chaos in the world.
They have a missile base on a peninsula jutting out of Venezuela.
I have had the feeling that something like this has been coming for a long time.

The USA has been importing great numbers of them for several years. That’s just what’s visible. Plus thousands more enter due to our lack of any real immigration controls, just staying here after visitor or student or work visas, and our infamous unguarded borders. The enemy has very top lev agents in our govt too.
Iran has had its grubby little hands involved in Latin America for years... I should know I monitored terrorist organizations operating in Central and South America for US Army South (USARSO) back in the day. Iranian backed Hezbollah terrorists bombed the Argentine Israelite Mutual Association (AMIA) building in Buenos Aires in 1994.
Conveniently, the next day a Alas Chiricanas flight out of Colon City mysteriously exploded in midair from a bomb carried on the plane by one of the passengers. Over half of the passengers were Jewish... I’m sure the had absolutely nothing to do with the attack (sarcasm).
What’s really mind- boggling is just how evil so many Moslems are. Looking all around the world, the greatest number of terrorists bombings and threats and defamations and lies against Christians. ( and Jews and Hindus and many others ) all come from that one group. Sicko. By their fruits ye shall know them........ Satan’s little agents. Alas.

This should surprise no one. Until 9/11 their 1994 attack was generally acknowledged as the largest terror attack in the hemisphere. I suppose that depends how you define terror attack, but it was centainly the largest modern attack.
