I happened to see some advertising for “Green Star Coffee” in Santa Barbara. Their logo looked curiously like the old Soviet emblems, except the star was green. I did some digging, sure enough, they were formerly known as “Red Star Coffee”. Amusingly enough (to me) they timed the re branding to occur on April 22nd, “Earth Day”, but, as we also know, is Lenin’s birthday.

I thought this quote from their owner hit the nail right on the head, with the point you, and Walter Williams make:

“We’ve been Red Star Coffee, but we always thought that having a name that was a little more ‘green’ fit better with our core values.”

If you visit their website, you would swear it was created by Karl Marx.
