Clear Channels Press Release follows:
Clear Channel Media and Entertainment announced today an all-new 2014 programming line-up for New Yorks News/Talk station WOR 710 AM.
Iconic radio talk show hosts Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, the top two radio talk show hosts in the country, will be heard on WOR beginning January 1 in mid-day, with Limbaugh broadcasting from noon to 3 p.m. and Hannity from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Rush and Sean have provided us a great opportunity to bring this unbeatable, one-two combination to WOR as the heart of our lineup in New York, said Tom Schurr, President of Major Markets for Clear Channel Media and Entertainment. Talk format listeners are extremely loyal and dedicated to their favorite personalities; this new lineup enables us to both give them what theyve told us they want to hear and to invest in a format we are deeply committed to.
WOR listeners will also be able to enjoy the highly successful morning show Elliot in the Morning as part of the new line-up beginning on January 13. Elliot Segal and his team, currently heard on Washington DCs WWDC DC101 and Richmonds WRXL, will bring their entertaining morning show to WOR in the new year, discussing sports, music, culture, news and entertainment topics weekdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Elliot in the Morning will now be broadcasted from New York City and will continue to be heard on DC101 and WRXL.
Im excited to be coming back to New York, to a station with such a legendary history, said Segal. We have built something very special in Washington, DC and Richmond and Im beyond thrilled that the show will continue airing on DC/101 and XL-102. Now, WOR will be home to Elliot In The Morning and I couldnt be more anxious to get going.
New WOR 2014 Line-up Includes:

Bringing Americas top two talk show hosts to our lineup, the entertaining Elliot Segal and his team to the mornings and becoming the flagship station for the Mets will allow us to create unprecedented marketing opportunities for our partners and unbeatable programming for our listeners.
Clear Channel sucks..bring back Quinn and Rose!!!
Meanwhile libs are in full meltdown move as the prog talk stations in LA and SF will go conservative on Jan 2. They’re saying they’ll contact the FCC (...which doesn’t step in regarding station format...), claim the signal of KTLK 1150 in LA “doesn’t reach past the station’s parking lot” (right, and you can keep your health plan if you like it), and say they won’t listen to a bunch of racist neocon thug liars etc.
But...I thought “change” was good!
so what is WABC gonna do now?
They’re giving Savage Hannity’s drive time spot - 3-6 pm
Thanks...Geez, Louise...that’s not gonna work. What about Rush’s slot?
Bring back cousin Brucie?
So what changed?
and Steve Malzberg
WOR lineup added Elliot, and Rush & Sean moving there (710) with the New Year. In LA Rush is going from one Clear Channel station to another (KFI 640 to KTLK 1150), etc., obliterating their progressive talk lineup as they become “the Patriot”.
Similar in San Fran where prog talk gets dumped for Rush,
Sean, etc.
WABC 770(Cumulus, while WOR is Clear Channel) will change with the loss of Rush and Sean (Savage going into 3-6 pm on WABC)
Concept is good..except there is NO music on AM..
I would like to begin compiling a list of non-Clear Channel stations that carry Rush, Beck, Mark Levin, etc.
With all these changes to Rush’s show lately (swapping CC stations) and the non-renewal of Quinn & Rose at WPGB in Pittsburgh, it’s not hard to make the connection that the hiring of Nathan Daschle, son of Tom Daschle, in June of this year is having ramifications.
I am very close to nixing my iHeart habit and using TuneIn Radio in its place.
WABC lineup may be: Imus, Geraldo (now local not national),
to be announced (?), Savage 3-6 pm, Levin, and “to be announced” at 9 pm
http://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/86781/geraldo-to-go-local-on-wabc-depart-syndication/
TuneIn works well.
One station that carries Rush, and Levin (7-10 pm) is
Boston’s WRKO AM 680 (Entercom)
No word yet. I think Cumulus might put their Dennis Miller on (that show is shifting to 12-3 pm after the new year) or more likely someone local.

Lots of discussion
>>Elliot in the Morning - on WOR after New Year
btw come the spring expect lots of pre-emptions of evening programming on WOR—the new flagship of the Mets (Yanks to WFAN 660)
Don’t know about Rush. I just listen to the drive time slot on my commute home.
Thoughts? What say you?
Maltzberg is the best!
Every time I go to WABC website says “denied access”.
Does anyone know (and willing to tell me) why they deny access? How do they get customers?
