I’m in the WOR - WABC listening area. Just looked up Elliot Segal on wiki. Apparently he’s a “shock jock.” Couldn’t figure out where he stands politically.
BUT: I am thrilled that Joe Bartlett is apparently not getting the morning spot. He is John Gambling’s news director on WOR in the mornings, and often pops into the show itself. Naively liberal — a cheerleader for DeBlasio, and his voice would always go soft and cheery when mentioning Obama. I’m relieved. No matter what Elliot Segal goes, it will be better than Bartlett would have been.
We just lost Quinn & Rose on WPGB 104.7 Pittsburgh and affiliates. It would be cool if they took the morning slots at WOR or WABC. They are apologetically conservative and patriotic and NOT afraid to say what anybody else on conservative talk radio won’t. We hope they are back on the air soon.
That he is! Back in the late 90s, Malzberg used to do overnights on WABC and his midnight Sunday (or was it 1am?) take apart the Sunday talk shows segment was must-listen radio. I lost a lot of sleep from that because I could not turn it off.
I know there are many Savage listeners here, but to me the guy is 100% certifiable..
