You bethch, ya.

Went up to Limestone, TN this morning to see the David Crockett birthplace. A very cool Park ranger named Bill made the experience most enjoyable. Man, that is one out of the way place. But TN was truly beautiful in the morning mist and fog.

But for Asheville NC, I am still in love with the South.

Good for Sherrif Rick!

Churchill at least had honorary U.S. citizenship

Churchill had American blood from his mother's side.

Churchill’s mother was an American, too.

I love Asheville. Asheville of the tattooed lesbians and Malaprops bookstore, so intensely conformist an island in the South around them, filled with great day spas and some of the best and affordable restaurants in the South.

But, yeah, I also laugh my head off at some of the fatuous, helpless, pathetic liberals there...

I know I'm being a little flippant. We ate there at Buffalo Wild Wings. And I bought a few cigars at a tobacco shop that was real smokey and cheerful. The proprietor said he didn't allow smoking in there. “Hey, I hear you,” I said, leaving it on the qt. Nice town, but I wouldn’t want to live there. I prefer NW South Carolina…or maybe those NE parts of Tennessee. That's really the country!

Oh, I certainly would not want to live in Asheville! But I have to admit that little boutique cities full of blithering liberal nitwits can make for a brief but diverting outing. Tupelo Honey. Early Girl. And the newer bakery, Donnatelli's. Basilica of St. Lawrence. Woolworths converted into a very nice art gallery. Haywood Park Hotel…very expensive but so conveniently located.

NW South Carolina is a big secret. Everyone thinks SC is hot and dripping with Spanish Moss. Do NOT tell anyone who has ever thought of voting Democrat about the cool and misty Blue Ridge Escarpment. Keep them far away. Tell them it is uncivilized and not enamored of homosexual honeymooning and no Starbucks and internet is very slow.

We living in bizzaro world.

God Bless the sheriff for not lowering the flag.

Avowed Communist and convicted terrorist. While no one can argue apartheid was wrong, that does not give anyone carte blanche to go out and kill innocent civilians in retaliation. His “moral high ground” vanished with those acts of terror (nevermind aligning himself with the political enemy of freedom, Communism, the ultimate in hypocrisy).

He should have been “Ruby-ed” in prison. I said it.

His claim to any “moral high ground” resonates with a Kennedy-esque hollowness.

if you are going to lower it for Mandela then you might as well lower it for Castro when he goes.. Mandela loved Castro and his glorious revolution.. two peas in a pod

I gave up keeping track of why Brooklyn Courthouse flags
fly at half mast, but I did notice they were recently.
For this person?
