Ya know, when Uncle Joe, the Father of All Mankind croaked in 1953, the fools and leaders (but I repeat myself) of the world wept crocodile tears too. It took another Communist Nikita K., a simpleton, in 1956 (5?) to set them straight, and even then they couldn’t admit they had been wrong about their beloved mass murderer (it took folk hero Pete Seeger to 2000 and beyond and even then I don’t think he renounced his religion!)
Times have changed of course, no one in public life will turn on Saint Mandela in two or twenty years, the Western world has gone slumming, the Communists, despite the unfortunate collapse of their monument the Berlin Wall, have for all purposes won the war against Western values, African savagery and misery is worshipped as we speak (contact Bill and his spouse Gates if you want to join the cult), and it is coming to your American neighbourhood.
I had an aunt who married a diplomat who near the beginning of his career was posted to Moscow at the time Stalin died and because the diplomatic corps had to attend the funeral and other associated events she did. Decades later she told me the whole thing was absolutely horrendous. Both she and he are long gone now but I do recall that little anecdote from many she told me.
