“Mandela began as a terrorist and never turned his back on monsters like Arafat and Castro, whom he considered brothers in arms.”
It’s been an interesting (and confusing) couple of days trying to form an opinion of this Mandela character. Rush was highly complimentary. So were a few congresspeople I look to.
In the end, I think I know the truth. It just can’t be said. Got it.
I think all were invited. President GHWB thanked President Obama but said
he was unable to attend. Clinton and Chelsea are in Brasil doing charity
events for his foundations and they will fly from there to S. Africa. Nothing
mentioned about Carter’s acceptance or refusal.
Obama invited the former presidents to join him aboard Air Force One in a trip
that will give them a chance to bond over their shared admiration for the
late South African leader who died at age 95 on Thursday.
End snip
Was he really??
I read they are going too, maybe even Jimmy Carter. Conservatives will do more good when they let trivial things go and focus on things like “why isn’t someone in court over - Fast and furious, Bengazi lies, IRS lies, Web Site lies - if you can lie the FBIO - see scooter’s jail sentence then what about lying to congress? Push congress to take action not just talk. Leave funerals for the TV gossips.
Yeah, it was a little nauseating. “His power of forgiveness was amazing.” I mean, I know Rush knew his comments were being scrutinized by everyone. Couldn’t avoid saying something. Unenviable position.
So sick of the entire story. I think the funeral is sometime next Feb.
That is correct. All of our presidents have been progressives since T. Roosevelt, for sure.
Any doubt, read the book, "The President's Club". It leaves no doubt that all of our presidents have been more worried about themselves than either the 'country' or its people.
“Compassionate Conservative” Bush squandered billions of American tax dollars in aid to South Africa. So by all means he should attend.
Wouldn’t South Africa be the one that invited President Bush, not obama? Since President Bush accepted the invitation, he wanted to make sure that the American Leadership was on the same page about the matter.
Gee wizz....people making a mountain out of a molehill....
The cost of fyling GWB and the security detail he has....ain’t cheap...
Flying on AR1with the brown clown makes sense....for that reason alone...
I can only think of the picture of Bush and Cheney at the inauguration having to listen to It. I couldn’t do it. I would have a nervous breakdown.
Good Lord, February....I might take a dive off the deep end by then.
I've been here since '99 and because I'm no longer a Bush fan & hang on his every word...
..because I object to his misdirection and practically handing Obama the White House....
....or because in 2007 he tried his hardest to give our country away to illegals....
I'm, by your book, not Republican (whatever Republican means nowadays)
Good mercy!
I forgot about that visit. Whats the old James Brown song? I Feel Like Bustin Loose! Well, Bush actually has helped parts of Africa to subdue the Aids epidemic. George W. is openly praised for that X-Billion dollar gift in much of the continent, much to O’s displeasure.
I'm totally fed up with all of them...
“Sheila Jackson Lee endorse Hillary over Obama in 2008.”
Wow. Ho’s before Bro’s, whoddathunk?
In my opinion, he was a filthy communist.
maybe he is going over just to piss on his grave. I would.
Learned yesterday he was all in for abortion. I guess forgiveness doesn’t apply to those who haven’t had a chance to do anything wrong yet.
I am anticipating my kids will have Mandela Day off from school next year.
While H. W. Bush and Bubba Clinton are making another round of fundraisers for the hurricane victims in Haiti and AIDS research in Africa............
Even if that were true Obama would be oblivious to it. This is all about overkill in Obama's Mandela-worship. He's pulling out all the stops in piling on the honors.
