Great post. (although I disagree about Roberts.....I think he decided that one on his own.)
By all accounts, Roberts had written the majority opinion striking down 0bamacare as unconstitutional, but changed the opinion shortly before it was handed down. Supreme Court justices don’t just “change their minds” as they would in ordering the taco salad over a cheeseburger. This was the defining moment of his tenure as Chief Justice, and everyone knew it.
Something happened to make him change; it had to be an outside influence. Of course, the “what” is going to be speculation. Regardless, his decision in this case effectively removed the Supreme Court as an obstacle to the revolution.
