when I traveled a lot for work, it was usually to smaller cities and towns. I used to quiz people on how they like where they live and most people had no idea what the basic laws were in their counties no less their states. I would usually ask about the local stores, what “thing” the area was famous for, gun laws and what the taxes were like. The only ones that knew anything about local governance were the farmers and hunters and most really only knew only what they had to know. There were very few people that had a good grasp on state and national politics. This was why the Tea Party was so important IMO.
Guns? What guns? Anyone living in places like Connecticut need to “sell” their guns or take a boat trip. When the law comes a calling, “There are no guns here, they were all stolen.”
