Amarillo, TX - A local man is arrested in Wednesday's early morning homicide.
He is being identified by Amarillo Police as 25 year old Michael Ross Philley.
Officials say he is now being held in the Potter County Jail, accused of murdering 53 year old Eddie Don Turlington.
He was also booked on a warrant for assault against a family member.
Just after 6:30 Wednesday morning, police say they responded to a call for a possible stabbing on S. Mississippi Street in the San Jacinto area.
That's when they found Turlington inside on the floor. They also found Philley who was detained and questioned.
At this time, Police are not calling this a random act.

Sounds like an Obama run jail...jailing homicide victims
One of the worst muck ups I’ve ever seen was printed in the St. Louis Post Dispatch several years back. I posted it here with all the “updates”.
They were reporting a robbery and were talking about the man’s gun. They referred to it as a .38 m.m. pistol. After about an hour they posted a correction, that it was not a .38 m.m. but a 38 m.m. pistol.
Next, they “corrected” it to, a 38 caliber automatic revolver, then they tried a .38 caliber automatic revolver. After that they just gave up. They never did get it right.
Necrophilia?
It’s meant to be a little humorous but actually the truth at least for public schools. But what can you expect from an amoral system like that?
MY aim is pretty good, but even I’d be hard pressed to shoot someone in Amarillo considering I’m still in MINNESOTA.
In other words, I’ve got an airtight alibi... ;-)

Good thing you grabbed that - they’ve wimped out and corrected it. You have to wonder how they found out. And how many places on the Internet have the screen cap...
(We should do this with more victims...other inmates won’t know what the deal is...they’ll just think this is what happens to criminal deadbeats...better than the SCARED STRAIGHT approach)
