Would a 1-loss SEC Champion deserve to play for the BCS national title over undefeated FSU or Ohio State? The AJC's Jeff Schultz & CineSport's Noah Coslov talk about the SEC taking a back seat.

I think FSU is the better team. That of course is while they have their QB.
FSU is certainly a very good all around team, if not the best all around team in the nation. However, in the BCS championship they may be challenged like they haven’t been challenged all year.
Yup. The SEC is overrated. Just like last year and the year before and the year before etc. I know it must be true because it is said every year.
Blah blah blah
Anybody that coudn’t suss out Bernie Madoff will always be over-rated.
Check out strength of schedule for FSU & OSU - both in the 60’s. The SEC cannibalizes itself.
I don’t think the SEC is underrated. But I think other conferences are catching up.
As to the BCS NCG, it’s not a difficult puzzle to piece together.
FSU will go because it will beat Duke. An upset here is as likely as Obama becoming a tea-partier.
If Ohio State beats MSU then the Buckeyes will play FSU. If Sparty prevails, the winner of the SEC championship will go to the big dance.

With the current system (like the past 7 years) the SEC is outside looking in. It is the system.
LOL

The only way something like that would happen would be the result of in game injuries to key players and uncharacteristic turnovers.
Angry yankee

While #1 Alabama and #4 Auburn were duking it out, #2 OSU was squeaking by against unranked Michigan. Remember Boise St. (??) being undefeated forever, then they finally started adding quality opponents?
Lol. A bit obsessive and jealous, too. :)
SEC myopia or not, Auburn has been getting better every week. Alabama’s OTHER team is going to be tough to beat and Ohio would stand no chance against the War Eagles. Free Shoes U had better pound on Coach Cut’s Blue Devils or they’ll slide in the polls.
Auburn is NOT the “war eagles.” They are the Tigers. “War Eagle” is a greeting.
It matters not!
Go Bucks!
Remember how every SEC fan always says “XYZ University would have 3 or 4 losses if they played in the SEC!”?
Well, that’s always been a hypothetical and not really provable, so saying it really didn’t mean much. Until this year.
It just so happens, a team that didn’t play in the SEC last year actually played in the SEC this year. Now this team was really mediocre last year. They weren’t even bowl eligible last year at 5-7. But this year, they moved to the SEC where according to SEC Nation, they’d have all those losses heaped on them like it’s always purported. I mean, if they lost 7 games last year, then in the mighty SEC, these guys would have, what, nine, ten, ELEVEN losses. Why? Because the SEC is the premier, dominant conference when it comes to football.
Well, this new addition to the conference didn’t lose 3 or 4 MORE games than last year. They didn’t just go .500 either. And they weren’t just bowl eligible. No, this team, Missouri, only lost one game, an overtime game, in the SUPER-SEC.
So I guess we should stop claiming that undefeated teams in other conferences would lose 3 or 4 games if they played in the SEC. Seriously. Just stop it.
And for SEC diehards it must be really grating that a yankee school from the mdwest could win the SEC championship this year. The opening line for Saturday’s final against Auburn was that Mizzou was 1-point underdog...

I guess you didn’t hear - oddsmakers would have the Buckeyes favorites against Auburn (2 points). Back to back undefeated seasons has been accomplished very rarely in the history of the game...
Go Bucks!
