kinda hard to spend thousands of dollars at your local Target or Walmart on Black Friday

Kinda hard for me to do that, any day. ;-)

However, from my perspective, this article couldn't be more accurate. I'm looking at a massive jump in Health Ins starting next year. As a result, this Christmas will be the "Year of the Homemade Presents".

Lots of good cooking is going to be happening, which frankly, I'm looking forward to. But, Santa's Sack isn't going to be as full of stuff from Target, WalMart, etc etc, this year. That's okey-dokey, though.

As an anecdote, I went to KMart this past Saturday morning. Wincingly, but I had a short handful of things to pick up that I needed for the weekend. I was surprised to see that the place might have had a few dozen people in it. No one at the checkouts.

If I was a retailer, that wouldn't bode well, IMHO.

Took a drive on Sunday from my home down towards a mall, two days after Black Friday. Ordinarily would expect heavy traffic. Only a few cars on the road and got to my destination in ten minutes.
