House Speaker John Boehner's new staffer in charge of immigration policy has significant experience in drafting immigration legislation and pushing for reform. She wouldn't be coming to Boehner's office if House Republicans weren't serious about doing something on the issue. What that is remains to be seen.
Rebecca Tallent, former chief of staff to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., will be coming to the speaker's office from the Bipartisan Policy Center, where she has served as director of immigration policy. Her move "is affirmation of [Boehner's] strong desire to move legislation in 2014," BPC's immigration task force cochairman, former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, said in a statement.
Tallent is a veteran of immigration fights and a big believer in reform, including a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

I support this for immigration reform:
Step #1 is seal both north and south borders.
#2 remove all Obama restrictions on the Border Patrol and allow them to do their jobs.
#3. All Immigration judges are to order immediate deportation of all illegal aliens charged with crimes - all crimes.
#4. Pass legislation forbidding illegal aliens from accessing any and all welfare benefits derived from federal funds. (ditto - education)
#5. enforce the law prohibiting employers from hiring illegal aliens.
#6. Pass stringent laws denying citizenship to children born of two non-citizens (legal or illegal) The Constitution does so state this but has been misinterpreted over the years per some (many?)constitutional scholars.
With the above in place self-deportation will take place. This is real immigration reform
I like your list!
Try demanding ANYthing like this in any foreign country. Nada~
Illegal means illegal, PERIOD.
Time to support Boehner’s primary opponent.
This traitorous, backstabbing idiot has to go.

Sounds good, especially presuming that illegal aliens are charged with the crime of being an illegal alien.
Personnel IS policy.
We may allow people who came here illegally and lived here illegally to have some legal residence status. However, we owe these people nothing and we certainly don’t owe them citizenship. And above all, we would be making a GRAVE MISTAKE to put these people on a path to vote.

This Traitorous backstabbing idiot has got to go.
Amen.
Path to citizenship? Follow these easy directions. Leave home and head to international airport in Mexico City. Obtain visa and fly 940 miles north in Dallas, Texas. Travel to cousin’s house in suburb. Stay there until Democrats and RINOs pass amnesty bill.
Does anyone know of the possibility of the Republicans being able to change to a different leader soon? If they can and don’t, they are all just as complicit as Boehner.
GOP just looking to lose 2014 and 2016. Absolutely stupid party pushing Amnesty for future Democrat voters
#6. Pass stringent laws denying citizenship to children born of two non-citizens (legal or illegal) The Constitution does so state this but has been misinterpreted over the years per some (many?)constitutional scholars.
The way to get around this is to discourage the parents from staying....parents either:
1. Take the kid back with them...when child is 18 they can apply for citizenship
2. Go back without kid, kid becomes ward of state
Fighting and changing Constitution will be tough on US born. Taking away parents financial incentive (welfare, food stamps, govt aid) for birthing in America will discourage this
I heard a discussion by knowledgeable persons four or five years ago and they concurred that what is needed is a case brought before SCOTUS. They believe the law is clear enough to get a favorable ruling. It has been misapplied without challenge over the years.
