The British government tried to cover its tracks. But a new cache of documents Robert Spencer and I have received in our battle to overturn our being banned from Britain reveal that a chief reason why we were banned from the country was because we strongly support Israel. As part of our lawsuit against the Queen of England and the Home Secretary et al, we have received numerous documents between the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Office of Security and Counterterrorism, and the Home Secretary. In one of them, an official in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office whose name was redacted wrote this letter on May 7 to a recipient whose name was also redacted:
I have received initial feedback from Post to say that they do not expect that there would be any reaction from the US Administration to these exclusions.
We do have concerns with some of the reasoning in the sub, particularly citing pro-Israeli views and. [sic] Pro-Israeli views (and also support for waterboarding) apply to a large number of Americans, including former Presidents. If, for instance, Geller and Spencer were to request details of their exclusion under FOI/DPA or other mechanism, that being pro-Israeli is cited as a reason may be problematic and they could argue publically that their exclusion is on the basis of their support for Israel.

LOL, bisto. Yes, you are an evil b*tch for that, I will never forgive you!........lol
I don’t think British PEOPLE like East Coast people of either sex. We aren’t fond of Noo Yawk and Boston types. Or cocky Texans. We tend to like the quieter, more humble, respectful Midwesterners. In short, we like our Jimmy Stewarts and Henry Fondas more than we like our John Waynes and JR’s.
Palin?. I don’t dislike the woman, I just don’t rate her at all. A not too intelligent and none too impressive politician whom I think is nowhere near the experience, intelligence and gravitas needed to be a really good (Republican) President (mind you if the present incompetent can make it, anyone can). A VP, an administration member, but not President.
Still, I rate her much higher than I would Geller, whom I rate down at the same level as Debbie Schussel. And I read the latter for comedy value.
Savage had never visited the UK and was never going to visit here, so its ironic that he plays up his banning.
Self-hating Jew? There are plenty of those around, especially in New York. I find that the sharp distinction between anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic is harder to draw than some people think, although that’s usually their excuse.
In any case, Cameron leans toward the Muslims whenever there’s an incident in the UK.
I hear savage did have a visit planned. But either way he is naturally unhappy to be banned ( perhaps especially if he wasn’t even going to UK). And he carps about the ban to get it lifted. And it obviously is part of the promotion he does for his radio/ wireless program/me which thrives on topics like governmental (mis-) conduct and mistakes. ( We do know that some good people have cancelled or postponed visiting UK due to this. )
Sigh...john wayne was a midwesterner...
Actually, in reading your post it is pretty clear you don’t like anyone in America - from sea to shining sea. (That is why I consider you a troll, by the way.) And you just confirm my none-to-original theory that both the left and right of Great Britain dislike - and always will - America.
I think I recall Sean Hannity talking about it for a few days, but there was no concerted push to make the public focus on the injustice. That incident was not handled the way Bashir’s ugly insult to Sarah has been handled. In this instance, I was pleased to see a few GOP big mouths open up and say the right things, although this could be stronger too. Mike Savage is a word master. If there was ever a 72 year old New York Jew who could Rap with credibility that would be Mike. Not that I want to give him ideas, I hate most rap. Mike knows how to needle and ridicule another talker in ways that hurt. People like Rush had probably had enough of Mike’s nipping at his heels decade in decade out.
Sigh, I was clearly referring to the TYPE of person.
I do like America and Americans (believe me I wouldn’t be here otherwise), a fact I have made clear numerous times. In fact I like America and Americans a great deal, however I dont think you are perfect or always right and I will say so if I wish to. If you wish to believe I don’t, that’s your prerogative. You’d be very wrong, and frankly I aint gonna jump through hoops to justify myself to you.
If I offend you that much, please put me on ignore. Or simply don’t read and respond to my posts.
I stand up for my country. Something I will NEVER apologise for.
Most British like America. Some don’t. Nobody said we have to like you, or you have to like us. If people don’t like America, meh, who really cares. Americans shouldn’t. Crack on and live your lives, let the haters stew in their hate.
Americans perhaps take too much stock in how the world thinks of them. Many didn’t like the British Empire, but they respected it.
